The QOS exam is one of the qualifying exams for the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional, Cisco Certified Voice Professional, Cisco IP Telephony Design Specialist, Cisco IP Telephony Express Specialist, Cisco IP Telephony Operations Specialist, and Cisco IP Telephony Support Specialist certifications. Cisco’s CCSP certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification for computer support technicians. The CCNP certifying exams cover a wide range of networking concepts with attention given to specialized topics such as security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.

The certification requires you to pass three exams:

• 642-902 ROUTE: Cisco CCNP
• 642-832 TSHOOT: Cisco CCNP
• 642-813 SWITCH: Cisco CCNP

The only pre-requisite for the candidate to go for CCNP certification is that they should have a valid CCNA or any CCIE certification before taking this test.

Cisco’s CCIP certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification for computer support technicians. The CCIP certification proves your competency as a computer technician by measuring your skills in areas including IP routing, IP QoS,BGP, and MPLS. CCIP certification is a professional certification covering end-to-end protocols used in large scale networks.
Once the CCNA has been passed, candidates can earn a CCIP certification by passing 3 or 4 exams, depending on which route they choose.

To attain this certification, tests must be passed in the areas of routing, BGP, MPLS, Quality of service and the routing exam from the CCNP track (642-901 BSCI) modified to 642-902 ROUTE.
The certification requires you to pass the following 4 exams:

• 642-901 BSCI: Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) or 642-902 ROUTE: Implementing Cisco IP Routing
• 642-642 QOS: Quality of Service
• 642-611 MPLS: Implementing Cisco MPLS
• 642-661 BGP: Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers

There is a composite exam that can be done in place of the above.

• 642-691 BGP MPLS: BGP MPLS Exam (composite in place of 642-611 and 642-661exam)

Career Options with a Cisco CCIP Certification

Earning a Cisco CCIP Essentials certification after you pass the 642-902, 642-642, 642-661 and 642-611 exams opens up multiple career options for entry level IT professionals. You may choose to work as a network manager, network administrator etc. or even, open your own computer networking service company, etc.

The CCDP certification (Cisco Certified Design Profession) is Cisco’s Professional-level certification designed to reflect advanced knowledge of, and experience in, network design. A CCDP certified individual should be able to design routed and switched networks involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services, applying modular design practices and making sure the whole solution responds optimally to the business and technical needs of the client.
In order to take the CCDP certification a candidate must first pass the Associate-level CCDA and CCNA certifications. Once the prerequisites have been met then the candidate must pass up to three CCDP exams (candidates can choose a two-exam path or a three-exam path).
The exams are as follows:

• 642-901: BSCI Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks
• 642-812: BCMSN Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks
• 642-871: ARCH Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures

Or

• 642-871 : ARCH Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures
• 642-892 : Composite BSCI Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks and BCMSNBuilding Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks

(The two-exam route combines the 642-901 and the 642-812 exams together in the form of the 642-892)
